SUMMARY:What we Carry: Living with Pain
DESCRIPTION:What We Carry is a collaborative art-science project led by artist Marysa Dowling \, BRC: Oxford Health\, the University of Oxford and the Chronic Pain Neurotechnology Network+. \nIt uses photography and creative expression to make the invisible experience of chronic pain visible. \nBy helping people articulate what is often misunderstood or difficult to verbalise\, the project offers a powerful platform for exploring the emotional and social dimensions of living with pain. \nThe What We Carry: Living with Pain in person exhibition will be at the Life and Mind Building\, South Parks Oxford from 14 September. \nFor more information: Whatwecarry online and/or our Pain Theme web page BRC: Oxford Health Pain Theme.

SUMMARY:Trich: a solo show
DESCRIPTION:Please join Professor Clare Mackay at Amey Theatre Abingdon on Monday 12 October at 7pm for some public engagement with a difference  \nTRICH is a solo show\, over 75 minutes with no interval\, centred around mental health. Find out what happens when we stop pretending everything is fine and start letting people in. \nTRICH was the top selling play at the 2021 United Solo Theatre Festival in NYC and continues to be performed regionally across the USA and has become an advocacy tool at mental health conferences for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs). The play offers a meaningful entry point for awareness\, connection and destigmatisation.  A valuable tool for empathy\, education and conversation. \n\nWho is the play for?\n\n\nStudents and Young adults\nHealthcare professionals\, teachers and parents\nAnyone who struggles with their mental health or knows someone who does\nAnyone who has experienced shame or isolation\n\nProfessor Mackay says: ‘Trich is a show about living with a highly stigmatised mental health condition. Becca is an amazing story-teller and the play is enriching\, enlightening and highly entertaining’.  \nInformation and tickets from www.trichplay.com \nGeneral admission £15 \nStudents and Seniors £10
