DESCRIPTION:Nursing Research: Transforming Global Health in a Changing World \nTranslational research based on best available evidence to improve care is core business for Nurses. This conference will explore the pivotal role of nursing research in addressing pressing health challenges. As global health dynamics evolve due to emerging diseases\, climate change\, and shifting demographics\, this conference will highlight how innovative research can drive equitable\, evidence-based care. \nBringing together nursing leaders\, researchers\, and practitioners\, the conference will foster collaboration to advance healthcare solutions\, strengthen resilience\, and shape the future of global health in an ever-changing landscape. \nThe 2025 RCN International Nursing Research Conference will also showcase research that demonstrates strong methodological expertise and team working leading to improved clinical and applied health\, public\, social and community health and/or acute care settings. DESCRIPTION:Stephanie Perrin\, Equality\, Diversity and Inclusion Officer at the Agile Initiative\, will be talking about Equality Impact Assessment and Inclusive Research Design. The session will be online. \nAn Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is a way to identify the possible impacts of a research project or decision. Researchers can use this tool to understand the effects of their work on trial participants or members of the research team\, based on their protected characteristics\, and mitigate potential negative impacts and promote positive ones. \nCompleting an EIA helps ensure that research processes are fair and do not present barriers to participation. It is a great way for researchers to embed equality\, diversity and inclusion through all stages of their projects\, be it research design\, engagement or participant selection. \nIn this talk\, Stephanie will explain why EIAs are important\, how to use them and how you can apply them to your research to demonstrate how you have considered inclusion. DESCRIPTION:What We Carry is a collaborative art-science project led by artist Marysa Dowling \, OH BRC\, the University of Oxford and the Chronic Pain Neurotechnology Network+. \nIt uses photography and creative expression to make the invisible experience of chronic pain visible. \nBy helping people articulate what is often misunderstood or difficult to verbalise\, the project offers a powerful platform for exploring the emotional and social dimensions of living with pain. \nThe What We Carry:Living with Pain in person exhibition will start on 25 October until 6 December at The Corridor Gallery \, situated on the Level 2 main entrance corridor of the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford. There will be an artists talk as part of the exhibition on 7 November.
