SUMMARY:What we Carry: Living with Pain
DESCRIPTION:What We Carry is a collaborative art-science project led by artist Marysa Dowling \, BRC: Oxford Health\, the University of Oxford and the Chronic Pain Neurotechnology Network+. \nIt uses photography and creative expression to make the invisible experience of chronic pain visible. \nBy helping people articulate what is often misunderstood or difficult to verbalise\, the project offers a powerful platform for exploring the emotional and social dimensions of living with pain. \nThe What We Carry: Living with Pain in person exhibition will be at the Life and Mind Building\, South Parks Oxford from 14 September. \nFor more information: Whatwecarry online and/or our Pain Theme web page BRC: Oxford Health Pain Theme.

SUMMARY:NIHR Academy Members' Conference 2026
DESCRIPTION:The NIHR Academy Members’ Conference 2026 will be held on 6 and 7 October. This will be a hybrid event with in-person attendance at The Queens Hotel\, Leeds\, and online streaming for a virtual audience. \nThe title of this year’s conference is NIHR20 – The future is digital: revolutionising health and care research. \nThe annual event is a fantastic opportunity for early career researchers to hear from inspiring speakers\, network with peers and understand more about the NIHR. The conference will include a packed schedule of keynote speakers\, panel discussions\, breakout sessions and networking opportunities. \nThe agenda and format of this year’s event has been developed with input from a steering group of NIHR Academy Members and a public contributor. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe NIHR Academy Members’ Conference is a fantastic opportunity for early career researchers. To be eligible to attend the conference in person\, delegates should be an NIHR Academy Member currently on an NIHR academic path. Please note there are a limited number of in-person places. \nVirtual attendance is open to all. \nRegistration will open in June. Registration for an in person place will close on 31 July\, whereas registration to attend virtually will be open until 6 October. \nAfter registration you will receive a confirmation email for your requested place. SUMMARY:Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs) Con 2026
DESCRIPTION:Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs) are a group of complex mental health disorders that are characterised by the uncontrollable urge to pull\, pick\, scratch \, cut or bite ones own skin \, hair or nails. These behaviours are not simply bad habits\, they are often chronic\, difficult to control and associated with high levels of emotional distress.  They can have profound impact on everyday life\, including work\, education\, relationships and general social functioning. \n\nBFRB Con 2026 will bring together clinicians\, researchers and people with lived experience to support knowledge exchange\, professional development and community-building around Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs).
