Scientists know that two proteins—amyloid beta (Aβ) and tau—build up in the brains of people with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). When tau accumulates abnormally, it forms tangles inside brain cells, which are strongly linked to symptom severity.
The study drug is being investigated to determine whether it prevents or potentially reverses tau protein accumulation in patients with early Alzheimer’s Disease.
There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s and no approved treatments that directly target tau, highlighting the need for continued research. Your participation could help advance better treatment options for early AD.
Since tau buildup is closely tied to how quickly Alzheimer’s worsens, reducing tau could play a meaningful role in future therapies. This study is an important step in determining whether the study drug can help slow or prevent early Alzheimer’s progression.
You may be able to join the study if you are:
- Diagnosed with early or mild Alzheimer’s disease
- Between 50 to 80 years old
