Good quality sleep is essential for good brain health and sleep studies are vital to improve our understanding of how quality sleep can be achieved for everyone.
Oxford Health Clinical Research Facility (OH CRF) hosts a variety of sleep studies and can offer two purpose-built sleep rooms featuring OxeHealth camera system, and Phillips Sleep Lights, as well as bedroom and bathroom facilities. Both sleep rooms can host adolescents and adults in a safe sleep environment.
The sleep rooms are located within the OH CRF building in a self-contained space onsite at Warneford Hospital. There are 2 adjacent sleep rooms (ideal for a patient and carer or parent and child/adolescent), and a large shower room, with two observation rooms. This self-contained space can have its own entrance and exit, access to the OH CRF garden, and be completely shut off from the rest of the OH CRF building.
Each of the sleep rooms feature:
- Specialised sleep mattresses OR a standard hospital bed
- Blackout blinds
- Storage for Polysomnography (PSG) device, and staff support for PSG.
The OH CRF has lab facilities and sample storage, admin support for bookings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all research processes, training in standardised research rating scales, venepuncture, cannulation and PK Sampling, ECG and an audited pharmacy with CD logging and storage.
