As part of Oxford University Hospital (OUH)’s Black History Month 2025 celebrations, the OUH BAME Staff Network is hosting a special webinar titled Dementia in Black Communities.
The guest speaker will be Mariam Watling, an Advanced Public Health Practitioner at Buckinghamshire Council and a PhD researcher in Dementia Studies at Lancaster University.
Mariam brings a wealth of experience in public health, with a particular focus on dementia and health inequalities affecting Black communities. Her research and advocacy work have contributed significantly to raising awareness and improving culturally competent care in this area.
This webinar will provide valuable insights and foster meaningful dialogue around dementia care within our communities.
The event is supported by the NIHR Oxford BRC.
