Ensuring public contributors’ voices are heard

Tuesday 17th June at 12:30 pm2:00 pm

Oxford BRC

Are you a researcher, PPIE lead, or coordinator supporting public involvement in research? This practical online ‘train the trainer’ session is designed to equip you with the tools, tips, and ready-to-use materials to help public contributors speak up with confidence in meetings.

Originally co-produced with experienced public contributors for two patient groups in the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, this training has received excellent feedback — and now we’re sharing it more widely so you can adapt and deliver it in your own setting.

What you’ll gain:

  • Practical strategies to support meaningful participation
  • Insights into how the training was developed with public partners
  • A flexible, editable slide deck to reuse or tailor as needed

Meet the speakers:

  • Angeli Vaid, Training and Inclusion Manager in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement, NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).
  • Jenny Gould, Member of Oxford Trauma PPI Group and Patient and Public Advisory Group.
  • Paul Deusen, Member of Patient and Public Advisory Group.
